Despite the various benefits offered by a PVC injection molding machine, it can also cause problems. Here are some common PVC injection molding machine problems and their possible solutions. Injection moulding defects may occur due to the material used or the handling process of the machine. These issues range from minor aesthetic issues to serious safety issues. A typical discolouration problem is when a molded part is different from the intended color. Generally, discolouration only affects a small area of a product, with a few streaks of an abnormal color on the surface of the component.

Incorrect temperature - Impurities in the raw material can cause delamination. This can be prevented by checking the temperature of the raw materials. The temperature of the raw materials should be set as per the manufacturer's specifications. Insufficient temperature will result in sinking parts, and too much temperature may result in leakage of PVC. Properly adjusted temperature and pressure relief devices are required to prevent these problems.

Heat and shearing - PVC is a heat-sensitive material. Its melting temperature should be between 345 and 375°F to ensure proper performance. If this temperature is exceeded, the material may begin to decompose, and the products produced will suffer serious consequences. Acidic substances can corrode metal, peel off protective layers and cause rust. These substances are harmful to human health. To prevent this problem, the screw should have a 25 to thirty-degree interior angle and a 0.7-1.8-mm gap between the tip and the nozzle.
